AbouT monster tennis
Monster Tennis was founded in 2003. Our Director of Tennis, Derwin Roland, is certified by the two premier tennis teaching organizations in the world – USPTA (United States Professional Tennis Association) and the PTR (Professional Tennis Registry).
Derwin teaches the modern game of tennis which focuses on a variety of forehands, different types of spin, proper footwork, offensive patterns and defensive shots, and hitting shots from anywhere on the court (including swing volleys). By attending many conferences and educational workshops over the years, Derwin learned from some of the best coaches in the world. He incorporates much of Nick Bollettierri’s Strategy Zone curriculum in his lessons for advanced players.
Derwin’s positive and encouraging style of coaching provides a fun and energetic learning experience for his students. Derwin’s passion is to grow the game of tennis and see his students reach their maximum potential. Derwin was named Independent Coach of the Year for the Georgia Professional Tennis Association in 2003.
